Bivy Stick Modem Cycle Behavior
Device Power On - When the device is trying to get a signal strength at startup, it will only try for 3 minutes and then quit to save power. When the device is powered on but asleep and the power button is pushed to wake up the modem, it will stay on for 3 minutes.
Mailbox Checks - Every 15 minutes the modem will wake up and do a mailbox check. It will try for 3 minutes and if it doesn't get the response, it will quit trying to save battery and then try again in 15 minutes (not 13) from that point.
Text Messages - When a text message is sent from the app, the modem will wake up and try to send it for 15 minutes or until successful. Modem will stay on for 15 minutes to listen for incoming messages.
Location Messages - When a location message is sent from the app or device, the modem will wake up and try to send it for 15 minutes or until successful. Modem will shut off immediately after sending message.
SOS Messages - When a text message is sent from the app, the modem will wake up and try to send it for 15 minutes or until successful. Modem will stay on for 15 minutes to listen for incoming messages.
Checkin Messages - When you send a device checkin or checkin from the app, the modem will wake up and try to send it. It will try or 15 minutes and if it's not successful, then it will go to sleep for 10 minutes and then wake up and try again for another 15 minutes. If time for the next mailbox check occurs before the 10 minutes is up, then it will try at that point instead. If a new message is sent or signal strength is checked, then it will retry immediately.
Normal behavior of the Signal light is when the signal LED light is constantly changing from green, to yellow, to red. This is NORMAL.
