GroupTrack™ Message

GroupTrack™ Message

If you wish to control the group communication and want to make sure everyone gets the message regardless of whether it goes through Mesh or satellite, use Group Track.  You will also want to use GroupTrack™ when you want everyone in the group to see each other’s location regardless of whether it goes through Mesh or satellite.  To use Mesh capabilities within GroupTrack™ create and join a group as you always have with Bivy Stick from the Group tab at the bottom of the Bivy app and the device and app will automatically use the best method of communication.  If it is not able to send a location via Mesh, it will send it via cellular or satellite.  Since Group messaging requires that every person receive the message, unless every device in the group is a Mesh device, the message must still be sent up to satellite.  As of today, text messages are always sent via cellular or satellite in GroupTrack™ but very soon they will not if every device in the group is a Mesh.  With location sharing amongst the group, every Mesh device will send and receive more rapid location updates than other devices in the group that are satellite only.
